Earning recognition as a Disability Confident Employer, this achievement marks a progression from the institution’s previous Level 1 status and demonstrates commitment towards an inclusive and supportive workplace.

The Disability Confident scheme, developed in partnership with employers and representatives of disabled people, encourages organisations to challenge perceptions around disability and take meaningful steps to improve recruitment, retention, and development practices for disabled individuals.

As a Level 2 Disability Confident Employer, UHI Perth has committed to:

  • Ensuring recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible
  • Advertising vacancies through a wide range of channels
  • Operating a Guaranteed Job Interview Scheme (GJIS) for disabled applicants
  • Providing reasonable adjustments where required
  • Supporting employees who acquire a disability or long-term health condition
  • Undertaking activities that make a real difference for disabled people

Katy Lees, Director of HR and Organisational Development at UHI Perth, explained:

“This accreditation is a reflection of our values and a promise to continue building a workplace where everyone can thrive.”
